Find a Sister

How does one become an SSND Associate?Associates

The first step is to request to become a pre-associate.  You can do this by contacting Sister Betty, our Associate Director, or by telling another SSND or Associate.  Sister Betty will then begin the process with you.

The next step is to become a pre-associate. During this time you may choose a companion sister, or one will be chosen for you, if you prefer.  Your companion sister will guide you in learning more about the School Sisters of Notre Dame and what it means to be an Associate.

At the completion of the pre-associate period (one to two years), the Associate Director and your companion sister will help you discern whether you are ready to make your covenant as an SSND associate.

If you are ready to make your covenant, you will do so during the annual covenanting ceremony.
