A Message from our Director of Mission Advancement
Dear Friends,
As I begin a new and exciting chapter in my life, my feeling is that helping you get to know me as a person will be the best way for me to gain your help and support. Each and every one of you will be the key to our mutual success in advancing the mission of the School Sisters of Notre Dame.
As a wife and mother of five children, and proudly the grandmother of five who range in age from eighteen months to six years, there is not much in life that has escaped me. For example, this past month witnessed my husband's brain surgery for his Parkinson's Disease and I would like to think I played a supportive role in its success.
Along the way I have managed to have a wonderful career that has encompassed all aspects of the non-profit world - fundraising, public relations, communications and marketing. Harlem Hospital Center in New York, NYU, and most recently, Habitat for Humanity of Coastal Fairfield County have graciously allowed me to further their cause.
Eight years at United Methodist Homes provided an entrée into the organization's for-profit company where my responsibilities included marketing assisted living and retirement communities in five states. Working with the senior population gave me insight into not only the aging process, but also the infinite stories that abound in these precious lives.
As we get to know one another, I look forward to sharing some of my own stories with you, even as I learn all I can about you. I have had numerous treasured experiences that have paved the way to my present desire to "give back" to a most special and important community of women, similar to the sisters who gave me my own foundation through sixteen years of Catholic educations. With deep prayer and hope I look forward to being part of the School Sisters of Notre Dame.
Gratefully,
Pamela Giblon, Director of Mission Advancement
