The Lord’s Place hosted its first Ending Homelessness Breakfast recently and honored several individuals who have been instrumental in helping change the lives of homeless men, women and children in our community. Presenting sponsor for the breakfast was Kerry Gallagher of Community Real Estate Services, Inc.
The Ending Homelessness Award was presented to Joe Gamarano, founder of Café Joshua, which is now a program of The Lord’s Place. The Unsung Hero/Heroine Award was presented to members of the Palm Beacy County Homeless Outreadh (HOT) Team, who seek homeless individuals and families in the field, putting them in contact with available services. The Servants award was presented to Sister Carleen Cekal and Sister M. Oliver Hudon of St. Ann’s Place, which provides showers and food to the homeless in West Palm Beach.
The late Alexander Dankin was honored by The Lord’s Place with its Good Samaritan Award. Accepting the award for the Dankin family was Joyce McLendon of Palm Beach, a member of The Lord’s Place Board of Directors and a friend of the Dankin family.
More than 375 people attended the breakfast, which was held at the Marriott Hotel in West Palm Beach.
