Entwining Our Roots in Chicago
June 12, 2008

Twelve sisters from across the Atlantic-Midwest Province gathered in Chicago last weekend to explore "Justice Issues in Film and Fiction," and to take one more step in the ongoing process of creating the Atlantic-Midwest Province by sharing deeply with each other and meeting many sisters in the Chicago area.
Participants had an opportunity to visit the “Catholic Chicago” exhibit at the Chicago History Museum and to view the many SSND artifacts that are part of that exhibit. Having read The Kite Runner before they arrived allowed the participants to have a rich discussion of its themes. The movie, Justice That Heals, a true story of reconciliation which was filmed at a parish in this area, also led to a wonderful discussion. Liturgy at that parish the next day was an added bonus.
Sisters throughout the Chicagoland area joined Entwining Our Roots participants on Saturday night for a potluck dinner and an opportunity to get acquainted.
